Mr. William Alan Doxtader 79 of 268 Covered Bridge Road Little Falls, Town of Salisbury, died Monday December 26th, 2016 at Albany Medical Center, after a brief illness.

He was born in Salisbury, on October 3rd, 1937 the son of the late William O. and Anna (Krawec) Doxtader.

Alan as he was known by family and friends, was veteran of the United States Navy, serving honorably from July of 1955 until he was discharged in September 1958. He was stationed in Kami Seya, Japan serving with NAVCOMMFAC.

Upon returning to the area he was employed by the North Hudson Woodcraft Company of Dolgeville, retiring from there in 2002.

Alan was a former member of the Salisbury Fire Department, the Salisbury Ridge Runners Club, and is a member of the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge #796 F & AM.

He is survived by his brothers Richard A. Doxtader of Johnstown, and Michael W. and his wife Mildred Doxtader of PA., a niece Anne McNeal and a nephew Adam Doxtader, additionally 6 great Nieces and 4 Great Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday December 30th, 2016 at 11 AM at the Roberts Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salisbury Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Spring at Salisbury Rural Cemetery.
