Rose Marie Blair Obituary

Rose Marie Blair, 90, a life-long Dolgeville, New York resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, March 21, 2021 at Little Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Rose Marie was born on October 9, 1930 in Dolgeville, New York and was the youngest child of 11 siblings to the late, Frank and Mary (DeLucca) DeNinno. She attended Dolgeville Central School until she graduated 8th grade and left school to help care for her aging parents.

She worked at the Dolgeville bakery then Eastern Footwear, where she met the love of her life, Bill “Cosmo” Blair. They married on November 22, 1953 and shared 44 beautiful years of marriage together until he passed away on May 12, 1998.

Rose Marie also worked at Daniel Green slipper factory, UNIVAC, Snyder’s bicycle plant, Allegro shoe company, and, finally, Daniel Green’s again before deciding to retire to take care of her precious grandchildren.

She was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and always had a prayer ready for anyone in need of one. Rose Marie loved baseball and watching her grandson play the game, which she had taught him as a toddler.

Rose Marie was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, Nonnie, and friend. She will be remembered as a natural caregiver who dedicated her life to serving others through her genuine kindness. She strived to ensure that her family felt well-supported and knew that they were loved. She will be greatly missed by those lucky enough to have known and loved her. Her family finds comfort knowing that she has been reunited with her soul mate, Bill, and they will be watching over them.

In her final days, she was able to serenade her family, singing along to her favorite Frank Sinatra songs. One of the final lyrics she blessed them with was: “But if you let me love you, it’s for sure I’m gonna love you, all the way”. This sentiment encapsulates how she lived her life. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Rose Marie could tell you that she was the most compassionate woman who loved with her whole heart and happily shared her blessings with others.

She is survived by her beloved children, her son, William H. Blair Jr. of Little Falls, NY, her daughter, Bernadette Nagle and husband John of Dolgeville, NY and her son, Jeffrey Blair and Rebecca Ellis of Lake Suzy, FL; the lights of her life, her cherished grandchildren, Billy Joe Blair, Shea Nagle, Riley Nagle, and Joshua Blair; her special nieces, Mary (Luppino) Davis, Joanne (DeNinno) Amato, and Laura (Tanoury) Cross; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband William H. Blair Sr., on May 12, 1998; grandson, Sean B. Nagle, on November 7, 1992; parents; and siblings, Joe (Madge) DeNinno, Louise DeNinno, Daniel (Molly) DeNinno, Rudy DeNinno, Johnny DeNinno, Rocco DeNinno, Frit (Shirley) DeNinno, Carm (John) Luppino, Lillian (Chuck) Lawrence, and Frank (Gail) DeNinno.

At her request, viewing will be limited to immediate family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 31 N.
