Henry J. Jaquay Obituary

Henry J. Jaquay, 75, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York after a brief illness.

He was born on September 21, 1946 and was the son of Laverne and Eleanor (Holtz) Jaquay. Henry was educated at several schools in the area.

On June 21, 1988, Henry was united in marriage to the former, Anna L. Link. The couple shared a marriage of 10 years until her passing in October of 1998. Henry had a long-time companion, Ann L. Wormer for many years, until her passing on May 9, 2019.

Henry was formerly employed by Burrows Paper Corporation in Little Falls, New York as a laborer. He retired after many years of dedicated service.

Henry was a member of the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his step-daughters, Christina Jaquay and fiancée, Roy Clark of Dolgeville, NY and Lynne Jaquay and her wife, Keely Ralston of Malta, NY; step-sons, Kenneth Jaquay and his wife, Keisha of Dolgeville, NY and David Jaquay and his wife, Sarah of Dolgeville, NY; grandchildren, Shane Jaquay, Hunter Clark, Kerrah Smith, Kaleb Smith, Kenneth Jaquay, Kyleigh Jaquay, Isabella Jaquay, and Kayley Bonificio; great-grandchildren, Carson Jaquay, Dawson Caponera, and their mother, Shantal Rose Caroll,  Alexis Smith, Avery Smith, Ainsley Smith, Amenadiel Smith and Adonis Smith; three brothers, Donald Holtz of Florahome, FL, Patrick Jaquay and his wife, Darlene of Dolgeville, NY and Howard Jaquay of CO; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Henry was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Carolyn Holtz and several family members.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be no immediate services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date next year which will be announced. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York.

The Jaquay family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Bassett Healthcare ICU in Cooperstown, New York for their care and compassion that was shown to Henry during his illness.
