Elizabeth "Beth" M. Roberts

Elizabeth "Beth" M. Roberts, 68, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, May 21, 2021 at Foltsbrook Center in Herkimer, New York.

She was born on February 22, 1953 in Granville, New York and was the daughter of the late, Raymond and Miriam (Williams) Roberts. Beth was educated at Granville Central School District and graduated with the Class of 1971. She then went on to further her studies at SUNY Cobleskill graduating in 1973 and finished her studies at SUNY Oswego where she graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors Degree in Education.

Beth began her teaching career in 1976 at Dolgeville Central School. During her many years of her dedicated teaching career, Beth engaged in several volunteer roles at DCS as well as in her community. She was Past President of the Dolgeville Teacher's Association, NYSUT Delegate, Past Member of the Dolgeville Public Library Board, and Past Member of the Dolgeville Historical Society and served 10 years as its Secretary. Beth will be fondly remembered by her students as "Miss Roberts" and had a profound impact on the lives of those she cared for and taught. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, neighbors and her Dolgeville Central School District community.

She is survived by her brothers, William and Donna Roberts of Bethesda, MD and Raymond and Diana Roberts of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Mettawee Valley Cemetery in Granville, New York. All are welcome to attend.

The family would like to thank the doctor's, nurses and staff of the Foltsbrook Center for their compassion and care that was shown to Beth during her stay.
