Sheila A. Jeffers

Sheila A. Jeffers, 30, of Newport, New York and formerly of Dolgeville, New York, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York after a brief illness with the love of her family by her side.

She was born on May 21, 1991 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of Lawrence and Michelle (Jeffers) Edgett. Sheila attended Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 2010.

On August 20, 2011, Sheila was united in marriage to Dakota S. Steele in Middleville, New York. The couple recently celebrated 10 years of marriage together, where they raised their three children in a loving home.

She recently started her career as a nurse technician at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York. Sheila also previously worked for Bernie Bus in Herkimer, NY and Price Chopper in the bakery in Little Falls, NY.

Sheila enjoyed baking, reading, listening to music especially BTS Music and K-Pop Music, and shared a love for all animals. She was a loving Mommy to her three precious children for whom she adored. A devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend, Sheila will be deeply missed by her family and community.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dakota S. Steele of Newport, NY; three beautiful children, Amelia Steele, Landon Steele and Victoria Steele, all at home; her parents, Lawrence and Michelle Edgett of Salisbury Center, NY; paternal grandmother, Pearl Edgett of Salisbury Center, NY and maternal grandparents, Keith and Candace Jeffers of Middleville, NY; her siblings, Anthony Edgett of Little Falls, NY; Kiya Edgett of Salisbury Center, NY; and Alexis Edgett and her companion, Joseph Watson of Salisbury Center, NY; grandparents in-law, Ron and Joann Campell of North Carolina; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be no formal services at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Dolgeville Fire Department where family and relatives will gather in remembrance of Sheila.
