Sandra J. Green

Sandra J. Green, 77, of Dolgeville, New York passed away on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023 in the comfort of her own home with her loving family surrounding her.

She was born on March 12, 1945 in Plattsburg, New York and was the daughter of the late, benedict and Truella (Murray) Carpenter. Sandra attended Peru High School and graduated with the class of 1963.

She was athletic in high school where she played soccer, softball, and was a competitive downhill skier.

On April 3, 1971, Sandra was united in marriage to Charles E. Green in Plattsburg, New York. The couple shared a loving marriage of nearly 38 years when Mr. Green passed away on March 25, 2009. At one time the couple ran the TCR Gas Station in Dolgeville together.

Sandra was formerly employed by Daniel Greens, Tricot, and retired from Lexington Centers in Fulton County, New York where she worked for several years.

In her spare time, Sandra enjoyed reading, puzzles, crocheting, and sewing Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She was an avid Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan. She was the biggest fan at her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. The love and laughter of her family in particular, was her greatest joy especially spending time with her grandchildren who she spoiled.

Sandra is survived by her loving children, Benedict Green and his companion, Brenda Hoke of Irma, SC and Brandy Stack and her husband Joe of Dolgeville, NY; her special grandchildren, Christopher Green and his fiancée, Destiny, Austin Green, and their mother, Petra Moore, Gregory Manchester, Hannah Stack, Haiden Stack; a cherished great-grandson, Charles Manchester; a sister, Ruth Desso and her husband, John of Northeast TX; a brother, Lawrence Carpenter and his wife, Deb of Plattsburgh, NY; a brother-in-law, Chris Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.  

A special thank you to grandson Gregory Manchester who was a big part of Sandra being able to remain at home these last few years. Also, a special thank you to Angela and Ann from Hospice.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held, Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Salisbury Ridgerunners. All are welcome to attend. The family is being cared for by Roberts Funeral Home and Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY 13329.
