Pamela "Pam" J. Chmielewski Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Pamela J. Chmielewski, 64, of the Town of Salisbury, New York, who passed away on Friday night, August 20, 2021 in Stratford, New York, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 20, 1957 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Walter and Mavis (Jodway) Rumrill. Pam was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1975.

On August 5, 1978, Pam was united in marriage to William "Bill" S. Chmielewski in Dolgeville, New York. The couple recently celebrated 43 years of marriage together.

After graduation, Pam went to work at Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York for many years until they closed. From there, she attended Herkimer County B.O.C.E.S. where she earned her LPN in 1997. She then went on to care for others as a nurse at several places and lastly, Foltsbrook Center in Herkimer, New York until her health declined. In addition to nursing, Pam worked along side her husband, Bill on the family farm in Salisbury, New York and with their logging business whenever needed.

Pam was a member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club and the Salisbury Ridgerunners. She also enjoyed bingo, football, NASCAR especially being an enthusiastic Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan, fishing with Bill and going to Chinese auctions. Above all, Pam was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She took great pride in helping to raise her grandchildren while her daughters worked. Pam was giving, kind and always putting others needs before her own. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
