Michael T. Miles

Michael T. Miles, 41, of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2020 in a UTV accident on Thompson Road, Town of Salisbury, New York.

He was born on November 28, 1978 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of Donna Barton and the late, Gary L. Miles.  Mike was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1998.

On July 4, 2009, Mike was united in marriage to the former, Melissa M. Danielski in Dolgeville, New York and raised their daughter, Alicia in a loving home.

Mike was currently employed with Falter Construction Corporation as a Laborer in Syracuse, New York.  Prior to his employment with Falter, he worked at Tioga Construction for 17 years.

He was a member of Salisbury Ridgerunners and the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club.  Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also had a love of snowmobiling and riding his side by side.  Mike had a zest for life, was always the life of each event he attended and was a great friend to many.  A loving son, brother, grandson, husband, father, and uncle, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his wife, Melissa Miles and beloved daughter, Alicia Miles at home; his parents, Donna S. Barton and Gary R. Daley of Salisbury Center, NY; maternal grandmother, Ellen Barton of Salisbury Center, NY; his seven brothers, William Miles and his wife, Kimberly of Little Falls, NY, Tyler Daley and his wife, Cassie of Mayfield, NY, Stephen Nichols and his wife, Yolanda of Salisbury Center, NY, Carl Nichols and his wife, Sue of Salisbury Center, NY, Joe Miles and his wife, Michelle of Florida, Dominick Miles and his wife, Michele of Frankfort, NY; Gary Miles of Frankfort, NY; three sisters, Michelle Stack and her husband, Matt of Little Falls, NY, Christine Hartnell and her husband, John of Wisconsin, and Kim Sherwood and her husband, Kent of Salisbury Center, NY; his father in law, Frank Danielski for whom Mike shared a special bond with as a friend and hunting partner, his mother in law, Laura Danielski both of Salisbury Center, NY, a grandmother in law, Barbara Danielski of Middleville, NY; a brother in law, Michael Danielski of Herkimer, NY; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, a special nephew, Devin Nichols of Salisbury Center, NY; many cousins; and many, many friends especially, Richard and Jenn Lamphere, Lucas Sherwood, Brian Shibley, David Randall, Clinton Randall, Pat "Squeaky" Herringshaw, Dean Christman and Paul Daley. 

He is predeceased by his father, Gary L. Miles, maternal grandfather, Leroy Barton, grandfather in law, Frank Danielski, and several uncles.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329.  We are asking for everyone to please abide by the current health guidelines by wearing a mask.  Social distancing guidelines will be in place.  There will be no funeral service. The family will hold a Celebration of Life reception immediately following calling hours on Friday at the home of his parents, Gary and Donna, 2046 State Route 29, Dolgeville, New York 13329.  Anyone wishing to contribute to the reception for food or assistance, please contact Wendy Daley at 315-269-2642.
