Linda M. Dykeman, 78, of Dolgeville, New York passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022 at Bassett Healthcare in Coopertown, New York with her loving family by her side.
She was born on October 22, 1943 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Peter and Cora (Strait) Jaikin. Linda attended Stratford Central School.
On June 3, 1961, Linda was united in marriage to David A. Dykeman at the Salisbury United Methodist Church Parsonage. The couple shared a union of nearly 42 years, when Mr. Dykeman passed away on July 14, 2003.
Linda was formerly employed by Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York where she worked for many years. In addition to her employment, she previously worked for Adirondack Bat. She was also a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
In her spare time, Linda enjoyed playing Bingo at the DeCarlo Staffo Post, trips to the casino, camping and fishing. She was also former member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club. Linda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Kubecka and her husband, Richard of Mohawk, NY, Liz Randall and her husband, Paul D. Randall, Sr. of Dolgeville, NY, David Dykeman and Lisa Smith of Salisbury, NY, Christina Newbrough and her husband, Dennis of FL, Crystal Davis of Dolgeville, NY and Teresa Vokins and her husband, Davis of Salisbury, NY; grandchildren, Kurtis Mowers (Beth), Kelly Purpura (Mike), Paul D. Randall, Jr., Clinton Randall (Lisa), Josh Randall, David Dykeman (Ericka), Tony Dykeman (Makayla), Chase Dykeman, Amanda Cruz, Megan Ponce, Brittany Elliot, Jesse Dykeman, Karlie Vokins and Claire Vokins; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Makaylah, Jacob, Arieanna, CJ, Gracie, Everlee, Colton, Delilah, Alexis, Austin, Avery, Lily, Cameron, Jovanny; siblings, Peter Jaikin, Sr. and his wife, Ruth, Annabelle Hayes, Eva Carpenter and Stanley Hayes; sisters-in-law, Artimisha Jaikin and Evelyn Jaikin; brother-in-law, Harold Mosher; an uncle, Jimmy Strait (Marsha); the Rasbach Family; special friend, Ed Stack, Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, David A. Dykeman, a son, Arthur Dykeman, two grandchildren, Zachary Purpura and Ashlyn Pupura, a daughter-in-law, Melissa Dykeman, and her siblings, James Jaikin, Frank Jaikin, Acie Jaikin and Mary Mosher.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Brown Cemetery in Oppenheim, New York with family friend, Pastor Rodney Congdon, where she will be laid to rest with her husband and son. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club immediately following the graveside service. All are welcome to attend.
