Kevin J. DeBonte, 62, of Stratford, New York and formerly of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly at his home late, Wednesday night, August 12, 2020.
He was born on March 4, 1958 in Paterson, New Jersey and was the son of the late, Gerald and Muriel (Spellmon) DeBonte. Kevin was educated at Butler High School and graduated with the Class of 1976.
On June 29, 1985, Kevin was united in marriage to the former, Judith A. Struble at Butler Methodist Church, Butler, New Jersey. The couple shared a blessed union of 35 years together where they raised their three sons in a loving home.
Kevin was formerly employed by the Public Service Enterprise Group (PSE&G) in Bergen, New Jersey as an electrical technician. After several years of service, Kevin retired in 2013. Shortly thereafter, Kevin and Judith moved to Stratford, New York to live out their retirement years in the Adirondacks.
He was of the Catholic Faith, was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and was a enthusiastic Republican. Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his early retirement to spend with his wife, Judith. His most precious time was spent in the company of his family and will be deeply missed by them.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Judith A. DeBonte of Stratford, New York; three loving sons, Joshua A. DeBonte and his wife, Christine DeBonte of Vernon, NJ, Corey J. DeBonte of Butler, NJ, and Jacob D. DeBonte and his fiance, Nicole Pullins of West Milford, NJ; two cherished grandchildren, Natalie DeBonte and Ian DeBonte of Vernon, NJ; a brother, Gerald DeBonte and his wife, Patricia of Bloomingdale, NJ; a sister in law, Sandra Schlette of Butler, NJ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with family wishes, there will be no local services. The DeBonte Family will hold a private Celebration of Life. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, (315) 429-7123.
