Kelly A. (Orr) Woods

Kelly A. (Orr) Woods, 62, of the Town of Ephratah, New York and formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday night, September 18, 2022 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, New York. At the time of her passing, she was comforted by the love and support of her family.

She was born on May 20, 1960 in Kingston, New York and was the daughter of Alois “Lanny” (Malmberg) Orr and the late, Clarence F. Orr. Kelly attended Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and graduated with the Class of 1978. She then further her education at Fulton-Montgomery Community College where she earned an Associate’s Degree for Medical Secretary and attended Old Dominion University in Virginia Beach where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene.

Kelly was formerly employed as a Dental Hygenist at Ocean Fron Dentistry in the Virginia Beach area for over 20 years until her early retirement.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoyed the beach and swimming in the ocean. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Lanny Orr of the Town of Ephratah, New York; a son, Ryan J. Woods and his wife, Charm of the United States Navy stationed in Norfolk, VA; a brother, Scott Orr and his wife, Toni of Johnstown, NY; a sister, Kristy Chorlton and her husband, Andy of Lassellsville, NY; a niece, Hanna Chorlton; a nephew, Ian Chorlton both of Lassellsville, NY; several aunts, uncles and many cousins. She also leaves a cherished friend, Brenda Byrne of Galaway, NY.

Kelly was predeceased by her father, Clarence F. Orr in 2017.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 starting at 12 p.m. (noon) at 5691 State Highway 29, St. Johnsville, NY 13452 (Kristy and Andrew Chorlton’s House). All family and friends are welcome to join them. Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329 is caring for the family.
