Keith H. Mumford

Keith H. Mumford, 76, of Oppenheim, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 19, 2021 at home with the comfort and care of his family.

He was born on February 2, 1945 in Cooperstown, New York and was the son of the late, Harold and Olive (King) Mumford. Keith was educated at Owen D. Young School in Van Hornsville, New York. After graduation, he attended SUNY Brockport.

Keith was formerly employed with the New York State Department of Transportation in the Maintenance Department for 22 years until his retirement in 2001.

He was a former member of the Oppenheim Volunteer Fire Department and the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, music and playing guitar. His most precious time was spent in the company of his family, especially with his three granddaughters.

Keith is survived by his son, Greg D. Mumford and his wife, Sharon of Oppenheim, NY; three granddaughters, Samantha Mumford of Portland, OR, Jazmin Mumford of the United States Air Force stationed in Germany, and Alexis Mumford, of Portland, OR; a sister, Kay Collins of Trenton, NY; and a niece, Denise Collins of Whitesboro, NY.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 3 p.m. at the home of his son, Greg and Sharon Mumford, 110 Belden's Corners Road., Dolgeville, New York 13329. All are welcome to attend. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home,30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York.
