Karen L. Cool Obituary

Karen L. Cool, 73, of Dolgeville, New York (Town of Oppenheim), passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York.

She was born on February 14, 1949 in Jamaica, Long Island, New York and was the daughter of the late, Edward Kitner and Margaret A. Bissett. Karen attended Little Falls High School. She went on to further her education at Utica School of Commerce and received certificates in Medical Coding and completed EMT courses to become a phlebotomist.

Karen was formerly employed with Centrex Labs in Herkimer, New York and lastly an office manager at Brandow Oil Company in Dolgeville, New York until her retirement.

In her spare time, Karen enjoyed riding motorcycle with her companion, Bob, antique cars and attending car shows with “Bessie”. She was very loyal and loving to her family, Bob and her friends and will be deeply missed by them.

She is survived by her companion of 12 years, Robert “Bob” Sheppard at home; her children, Michelle (Masi) Richardson and her husband, KC of Latham, NY, Tracy (Masi) Goodwin and her husband, Scott of Maiden, NC, Jennifer (Cool) Evans of Whitehaven, PA, Denise Cool of Little Falls, NY, David Cool and his wife, Jaimie Lynn of Westford, NY, and Ryan Cool of Bouckville, NY; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ed Kitner and his wife, Merilyn, of NY, Mike Kitner and his wife, Silvia of NC, and Dennis Kitner and his wife, Pam of VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Randy Kitner and step-father, Kenneth Bissett.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Roberts Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, New York.
