Judith "Judy" E. Carmen Obituary

Judith E. Carmen, 73, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday morning, August 21, 2021 with her loving husband by her side.

She was born on December 26, 1947 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Leroy and Joyce (Wainwright) Boyer. Judy was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1965. She then went on to attend Fulton-Montgomery Community College to be a Lab Technician.  

On March 16, 1966, Judy was united in marriage to Forbes J. Carmen at the Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville, New York. The couple shared a loving union of 55 years together.

Judy was employed as a lab technician and Sr. Cardiac Technician for Little Falls Hospital for 34 years until her retirement in December of 2014.

She had an incredible green thumb and enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens, reading, genealogy and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Judy was always the “care giver” to her family and dear friends. She was a kind and gentle woman and will be missed by all who knew her.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Forbes J. Carmen at home; a son, Scott Carmen and his wife, Stephanie of Fort Plain, NY; a daughter, Renee Carmen-Ayers and her fiance, Mike Harrison of Chatham, NY; grandchildren, Katie Slowikowski and her husband, Mike of PA, Krista Carmen of MI, Kyle Carmen of MI, Josh Ayers of Brooklyn, NY, Mackenzie Wintermute of Fort Plain, NY, Seth Wintermute of Fort Plain, NY, Gabrielle Moshinskie stationed with the US Navy in CA and Sara Harrison of Chatham, NY;a great-granddaughter, Harlow Scott Slowikowski; siblings, Glenn Boyer and his wife, JoAnn of Salisbury, NY, Marie Gressler and her husband, Chase of Dolgeville, NY, Joe Boyer and his wife, Joyce of Salisbury, NY, and Linda Dearwester and her husband, Marc of Palatine Bridge, NY; an aunt, Carol Boyer of Dolgeville, NY; many special nieces and nephews; cousins; and close friends including, Vera Rich of Little Falls, NY and Donna Sherman of Sherrill, NY.

She was predeceased by her parents, in-laws, and a son-in-law, William "Billy" Ayers.

In keeping with family wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Salisbury Rural Cemetery. The family is being cared for by Roberts Funeral Home and Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY.
