James "Jimmy" S. Mitchell Obituary

James “Jimmy” S. Mitchell, 56, of Dolgeville, New York (Town of Oppenheim), passed away on October 20, 2022 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford, New York. Before his passing, James gave the selfless gift of life, by being a double kidney organ donor, saving the lives of those who were in desperate need of his help. For this generous gift, he will be forever remembered as a giving and loved person.

He was born on November 3, 1965 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, John F. and Shirley A. (Meyers) Mitchell, Sr. Jimmy attended Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and Dolgeville Central School.

He was previously employed at Adirondack Bat Company in Dolgeville, New York and at Heidelberg Bakery in Herkimer, New York. 

Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors, helping his brothers butcher deer during hunting season and time with his brothers and friends. He will be missed.

He is survived by his brothers, Arthur Mitchell of Dolgeville, NY (Town of Oppenheim), and Raymond Meyers of Tennessee; a niece, Carmella Pennucci of Albany, NY; and a nephew, Jason Meyers of Clarksville, TN.

James was predeceased by his parents and siblings, William Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, John F. Mitchell, Jr., Donald Avery and Catherine Pennucci.

A private graveside service will be held at Dolgeville Cemetery in Dolgeville, New York where he will be laid to rest with his parents and brothers. Arrangements are with Roberts Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, New York 13329.
