Harry Vazquez, 84 of Dolgeville, New York and formerly from Babylon NY, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family in Angier, NC on Sunday Morning, June 7th 2020.
He was born on July 12th, 1935 in Bronx NY and was the Son of the late Pablo and Conception (Gonzalez) Vazquez. Harry Graduated from high school on Long Island with the class of 1953. He later went to Columbia University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Law and went on to attend St. Johns University where he attained his Juris Doctor in Law.
Harry was Commissioned into the United States AirForce in 1961 where he served with the JAG Corps and was honorably discharged at the rank of Major after his 18 years of service.
After his Discharge from the Air force he then went on to become a successful attorney in the private sector in Manhattan NY.
Harry was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Dolgeville, New York. He was an accomplished pianist, an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed gardening, especially his teacup roses and gardenias.
He is survived by his nephew, Ronald E. Cuevas of North Carolina; a great nephew, Ronald J. Cuevas and his wife, Tiffany of North Carolina; a great-niece, Regina Cuevas of Florida; great-great nephew, Warren Mares of Florida; a great-great niece, Jennavecia Mares of Florida; and a great-great nephew, Wyatt Nance.
Harry was predeceased by his siblings, Esther Vazquez-Fileccia, Robert Vazquez, and Virginia Cuevas.
The Vazquez & Cuevas Family will have private calling hours, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Dolgeville, New York with Father Brian Slezak, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dolgeville, New York.
