Elizabeth “Betty” A. Lussier, 72, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away early Monday morning, October 10, 2022 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York after an extended illness.
She was born on December 19, 1949 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, George and Mildred (LaBlance) Lussier. Betty received her education from Dolgeville Central School where she was a life-long resident.
Betty was a self-employed housekeeper and caregiver to many people in the Dolgeville area for over 40 years when she retired in 2020. Prior to self-employment, Betty worked for Daniel Green Shoe Company and Dolgeville Central School.
In her spare time, she enjoyed swimming, beaches, fishing, gardening and love for all animals. Betty especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, watching their sporting events and family get togethers. She will be dearly missed by her family, close friends and community.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Carrigan and her husband, Boyd Carrigan of Wilmington, NC, Kimberly Trumble and her husband, Horatio Trumble of Oppenheim, NY, and Tiffani Trumble and her husband, Nathaniel Trumble of Dolgeville, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Brandon Griffith of Little Falls, NY, Alec Carrigan of Wilmington, NC, Ian Smith of Oppenheim, NY, Hunter Smith of Oppenheim, NY, Brooke Trumble of Oppenheim, NY, Mason Mowers of Dolgeville, NY and Waylon Trumble of Dolgeville, NY; a niece, Michele Ortlieb of Utica, NY; three nephews, Michael Ortlieb and his wife, Estella of Cameron, NC, Jeff Lussier of Las Vegas, NV and Shawn of Las Vegas, NV; two special great-grandchildren, Soleidy Griffith and Alexander Griffith of Little Falls, NY; a special friend, Allan “Butch” Reitz of Dolgeville, NY; and many special extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mildred Lussier, a brother, Leslie Lussier, and a sister, Marie Ortlieb and her husband, Charles “Chuck” Ortlieb, and a nephew, Alan Lussier.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 3 East Faville Avenue, Dolgeville, New York 13329. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. A burial service in St. Joseph’s Cemetery will follow where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
