Diane L. Youker

Diane L. Youker, 62, of Oppenheim, New York passed away peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York with her loving family by her side, after a brief illness. 

She was born on June 17, 1959 in Herkimer, New York and was the daughter of the late, Albert and Gertrude (Gilbert) Smith where she was raised with ten siblings. Diane attended Herkimer Schools. 

On October 15, 2011, Diane was united in marriage to Russell D. Youker in Dolgeville, New York after a ten years courtship. The couple will have celebrated 10 years together for a 20-year union all together. 

Diane was currently employed with Salvatore's Pizzeria in Ilion, Herkimer, New York. She also previously worked at Sorrento's in Ilion and Arthur's in Dolgeville and served the majority of her career in the restaurant business. 

She was a member of the Salisbury Ridge Runners and the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club. Diane was a New York Giants football fan and enjoyed NASCAR... Go Jr.!! Her most precious time was spent in the company of her husband, children, grandchildren and family. She will deep missed by all who knew her. 

Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Russell D. Youker at home; loving children, Jason Wheelock and his wife, Heidi of Carmel, New York, Jim Wheelock and his wife, Stephanie of Stormville, New York, and Jennifer Jasek and her husband, Joe of Dolgeville, New York; 10 cherished grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters and their families; mother-in-law, Earlene Youker of Oppenheim, New York; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was predeceased by her parents and her father-in-law, William Youker. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York. There will be no formal funeral services. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at a Celebration of Life reception after calling hours at 5 p.m. at Russell and Diane's home at 160 Lotville Rd., Dolgeville, New York. All are welcome to attend.
