Dale C. Doxstader, Sr., 62, of East Herkimer, New York and formerly of Dolgeville, New York, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 unexpectedly at his home.
He was born on December 13, 1957 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of June (Randall) Doxstader and the late, Donald Doxstader, Sr. Dale was educated at Dolgeville Central School.
On July 15, 1980, Dale enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with the 3/327th Infantry Battalion, 101st Air Born Division. He was honorably discharged on July 15, 1983 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Dale formerly worked at Daniel Green Shoe Company, North Hudson Woodcraft and was a bartender for his family's business called Doc's Tavern in Dolgeville, New York.
In his spare time, Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, football, NASCAR and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his mother, June Doxstader of Herkimer, NY; his children, Katherine "Katie" J. Herringshaw and her husband, Randy of Gloversville, NY, Dale C. Doxstader, Jr. and his fiance Erin Korce of Little Falls, NY, Dana Doxstader and his fiance, Amber Eckler of Ilion, NY and Aaron Doxstader of Ilion, NY; his grandchildren, Jayden Doxstader, Kaydence Doxstader, Kamryn Doxstader, Carson Doxstader, Kaylin Lee, Ciara Cauley, Cole Cauley, Cynthia Delong, Bryson Doxstader, Brooklyn Doxstader; a brother, David Doxstader of Geneva, NY; uncles, Arthur Randall of Dairy Hill, NY, Donald Randall of Salisbury, NY, and Randy Randall and his wife, Shelly; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins.
Dale was predeceased by his father, Donald Doxstader, Sr., his brother, Donald Doxstader, Jr., a nephew, Justin Doxstader, and many aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held on Friday evening, August 14, 2020 at 5 p.m. at Salisbury Rural Cemetery in Salisbury Center, New York, where he will be laid to rest with his father and brother. The family will hold a Celebration of Life immediately following at the home of Dale C. Doxstader, Jr. at 2014 Route 5S, Little Falls, New York 13329 at the top of Fall Hill. All are welcome to attend both services to pay their respects to Dale.
