Connor M. Summerfield

Connor M. Summerfield, 17, of Howes Caves, New York and Salisbury Center, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, November 26, 2022 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York as a result from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in the Town of Duanesburg.  

He was born on May 1, 2005 in Amsterdam, New York and was the son of Dawn M. Gilchrist and Steven E. Summerfield. Connor was a 10th grade student at Schoharie Central School where he studied Culinary Arts at Albany-Schoharie-Schenectady B.O.C.E.S.  

In his spare time, Connor enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, hunting, playing video games, gardening and spending time with his family and his cherished siblings. Connor will be so deeply missed by his family. 

He is survived by his beloved parents, Dawn M. Gilchrist and her companion, Daniel Florian of Salisbury Center, NY and Steven E. Summerfield of Howes Caves, NY; an older brother, Brendon Summerfield, a little sister, Isabella Summerfield, a little brother, Damien Florian, and a baby sister, Ava-Rose Florian, all of Salisbury Center, NY; maternal grandmother, Larania Gilchrist of Salisbury Center, NY and paternal grandmother, Mary Summerfield of Nevada; Aunt Carrie King and her companion, Sal DeAngelo of Amsterdam NY, Uncle Jason Gilchrist (Jay-Buddy) and his companion, Colleen Conkling of Oppenheim NY, Uncle Mark and his wife, Brigid Falcone of Buffalo NY; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Connors family would also like to make a special mention to a few of his close friends; Mathew and Joshua Boston and Charles. 

Connor was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Steven W. Summerfield and maternal grandfather, John Allan Traskey Sr.

There will be a Celebration of Life reception to be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 to start at 12 o’clock (Noon) at the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department 1412 East Lykers Road, Sprakers, New York 12166. All are welcome to attend.

The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York in conjunction with Roberts Funeral Home, 3 East Faville Avenue, Dolgeville, New York.
