Acie M. Jaikin, Sr. Obituary

Acie M. Jaikin, Sr., 79, of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, June 25, 2020 at Little Falls Hospital in Little Falls, New York.

He was born on February 11, 1941 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Peter and Cora (Strait) Jaikin.  Acie attended Stratford Central School.

He was formerly married to Sylvia Congling on August 1, 1961 in Salisbury Center, New York. Acie was united in marriage to Marie Ellett until she passed away on February 23, 2016.

Acie was formerly employed as a logger for Darling Logging in Salisbury, New York.

Acie was a member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed fishing, camping, riding with friends on side by sides and generally being outdoors.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Acie M. Jaikin, Jr. and his wife, Maureen Jaikin of Salisbury Center, NY, Suzanne Jaikin of AK, James Jaikin of Arizona, Connie Wood of Alabama, Veronica Jaikin of Jacksonville, FL, and Jay Jaikin of Arizona; seventeen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Peter Jaikin, Sr. and his wife, Ruth of Dolgeville, NY, Mary Mosher and her husband, Harold of Amsterdam, NY, Annabelle Hayes of Little Falls, NY, Linda Dykeman of Dolgeville, NY, and Eva Carpenter and her companion, Stan Hayes of FL; sisters in law, Artimisha Jaikin and Eveyln Jaikin, both of Salisbury, NY; a daughter in law, Judy Jaikin of Herkimer, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Acie was predeceased by his beloved son, John Jaikin, two brothers, James Jaikin and Francis Jaikin, and his parents, Peter and Cora Jaikin.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be no formal services at the funeral home. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, (315) 868-0962.
