Mrs. Sarah B. Burkdorf  82, a resident of Home life at Folts Home in Herkimer, and a former Dolgeville resident, passed away there on Monday January 2nd, 2017, where she has resided since 2010.

She was born in Dolgeville (Town of Oppenheim), on April 1st, 1934 the daughter of Roy Delbert and Nellie Rena (Voorhees) Brown and was educated in Dolgeville Schools.

Her marriage to Ralph Burkdorf took place on May 16th, 1970.  Her husband predeceased her on March 22nd, 1987.

Sarah was employed by the former Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville, retiring from there several years ago.

While residing in Dolgeville, she was a member of the United Methodist Church. Her personal interests were in crocheting and the special times she shared with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter Sue and  her husband Herrick Henzel of Fairfield, NY, her brothers and their wives Herman and Meta Brown of Neptune, NJ, Arnold and Patricia Brown of Landing, NJ, a Sister Ruth Vrooman of Herkimer, her grandchildren Mercedees, Braeton, Jarrett, and Kyle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 7th, 2017 at 4 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Louis Sogliuzzo, a family friend will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring in the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Friends may call on Saturday from 2-4 PM, and attend the services.

Her daughter Sue would like to Thank the staff at the Folts Home for their kindness, and compassion shown to her Mother, while she was a resident there.
