Ronald I. Dager, Sr.

Ronald I. Dager, Sr., 64, of Dolgeville, New York passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2018 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York after a long illness, with his loving family by his side. 

He was born on May, 25, 1953 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Andrew and Lena (Nelson) Dager.  He was educated at Dolgeville Central School.

On July 24, 1971, Ronald was united in marriage to his high school sweet heart, Beverly J. Moore at the Salisbury Methodist Church.  The couple shared 47 years of marriage and raised their three sons together.

Throughout his life, Ronald worked at various local factories such as Daniel Green Shoe in Dolgeville, NY, Rock City Box and Homer P. Snyder Manufacturing Company Inc. both in Little Falls, NY and lastly at Keymark Corporation in Fonda, NY.  Ronald always selflessly providing for his wife and sons. 

In 2013, Ronald was diagnosed with several illnesses.  It was at this point he changed his life around, becoming a Christian and worked towards a more positive lifestyle. 

Ronald was a member of the Dolgeville Christian Fellowship and a former member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club.  He enjoyed snowmobile racing, camping, hunting and fishing.  Ronald was a former member of the Foot Hills Bass Masters.   He truly enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly at home; two sons, Jason Dager and his companion, Stephanie of Ilion, NY and Corey Dager and his fiance, Iris Garcia of Cohoes, NY; his siblings, Kathleen Daley and her husband, Clinton of Little Falls, NY, Evelyn Gould of Ava, NY, Cynthia Roth and her husband, Joe of Texas, Randy Dager of Little Fall, NY, and Jan Dager of Salisbury Center, NY; eight grandchildren, Dante Dager, Jason Dager, Jr., Erica Dager, Conner Dager, Melanie Dager, Dalton, Dager, Memphis Dager, Tisen Dager; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ronald was predeceased by his father, Andrew and his Mother, Lena, who passed away February 5, 2018, an infant daughter who passed at birth, Tessa Ann Dager, a son, Ronald I. Dager, Jr. on April 17, 2006, a sister, Sherry Lemke in 2008 and a brother in law and friend, Robert Gould.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Curtis Cemetery, Town of Salisbury, New York where he and his mother will be laid to rest at the same time.
