Mr. Harold Robert Snell Jr., 86, of 53 South main Street Dolgeville, (Parkside Court), died Tuesday evening March 7th, 2017 at Alpine Nursing Center in Little Falls. At the time of his passing he was comforted with the love and support of his daughter Carol and her husband Ken and family.

 

Mr. Snell was born in Little Falls, on July 19, 1930 the son of Harold R. and Frances (Finkst) Snell and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, class of 1948.

 

Upon graduation, he entered the United State Navy serving honorably from August 1950 until he was discharged in June of 1954. He served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Good Conduct Ribbon.

 

His marriage to the former Theresa Jasewicz took place on November 18th, 1955. They would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this November.

 

Harold was employed as a machinist at Burrows Paper Company until he retired from there in 1986 due to his health.

 

He was of the Catholic Faith, and personally enjoyed rabbit hunting in his earlier years. His greatest pleasure was with his children and great grandchildren.

 

Surviving is his wife Theresa, his sons and their wives, William “Bill” & Julie Snell of Dolgeville, Robert & Debbie Snell of Ilion, Mike & Dannett Snell of Montana, his daughters and their husbands Carol & Ken Tenney of Dolgeville, Cindy Sandborn and her companion Steve of Manlius, Ann & Rick Edwards of Tenn. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special nephew and his wife Chuck and Carol Slabe, and additional nieces and nephews.

 

In keeping with his wishes there are no calling hours or services at this time.
