Donald Clavette Obituary

Donald L. Clavette, 77, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, December 10, 2018 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York.

He was born on January 29, 1941 in Cambridge, New York and was the son of the late, Donat and Dorothy (Whitman) Clavette.  Donald attended Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1959.

Shortly after graduation, Donald enlisted in the United States Air Force in September of 1959.  He was stationed at several Air Force Bases in Colorado and Illinois and lastly was honorably discharged from Mather Air Force Base in California in September of 1963 after four years of service.

On June 20, 1964, Donald was united in marriage with Constance "Connie" J. Harrison in California.  The couple shared a blessed union of 54 years where they raised their daughter and son in a loving home.

Don was a 33 year employee of Frontier Communications as a telephone repair technician.  He retired in 2002 and continued to work after for several telephone companies thereafter.

In Don's younger years, he enjoyed owning and training race horses at the Saratoga Race Track as well as Vernon Downs Race Track.  He also like to garden in the summer, bowling, golfing, and visit with his friends at the local coffee shop.  Don will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Constance "Connie" J. Clavette at home; a daughter, Christine J. Crouch and her husband, Joel of Ilion, NY; a son, Donald "Scott" Clavette and his wife, Raquel of Washington State; ten grandchildren, RaeLynn Kaiser, Jackie Zagacki and her husband, Eric, Marisa Acosta, Jacob Clavette, Makayla Clavette, Gavin Clavette, Ethan Clavette, Gabrielle Crouch, Morgan Crouch, and Jayden Crouch; his siblings and their spouses, Diana Crossman, Donna Bouchard and her companion, Walter, Paul Clavette and his wife, Elaine, Larry Clavette and his wife Patti, and Dawn Lanphere and her husband, Jeff all of Dolgeville, NY; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Dolgeville Cemetery in the spring where the United States Air Force will accord military honors, at a time to be announced.  The family is being cared for by Roberts Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, New York.
