Adam D. Madison, 39, of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away peacefully with the love and support of his mother, Carol, by his side, on Monday evening, April 15, 2024 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, of natural causes after a 15-year long illness with health issues.
He was born on May 3, 1984 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of James B. Madison and Carol A. (DeKnikker) Pollard. Adam attended Dolgeville Central School and graduated a year early with the Class of 2001. A naturally smart student, he was accepted into SUNY Canton at the age of 16 and began attending classes at the age of 17. Adam earned an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science where he graduated with the Class of 2003 at the age of 19.
With aspirations to become a funeral director, life took Adam down other venues with his career during his life. Adam was employed for several local businesses and companies since college. His final and current employment was with the New York State Thruway Plazas in Little Falls, New York. Adam worked for both Indian Castle and Iroquois plazas for the last 6 years where he was a valued employee.
Adam enjoyed playing his guitar and was a fishing enthusiast. He truly enjoyed the outdoors and cherished the friendships he formed throughout his 39 years on Earth. A great conversationalist, a charismatic soul, a great conversationalist, an amazing friend to all who knew him, Adam was a loving son and brother, who will be so deeply missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his parents; his mother, Carol A. (DeKnikker) Pollard of Salisbury Center, NY; his father, James B. Madison of Herkimer, NY; a brother, Ryon Madison of Herkimer, NY; aunts and uncles, Harold DeKnikker, Lewis and Yvonne Deknikker, John and Kathy Deknikker, and Bert DeKnikker all of Indiana, Skip Avery, Lee and Brenda Avery, Kevin Avery, Scott and Denise Madison, Lisa Dillenbeck, all of Dolgeville and Oppenheim, NY areas and Karen and Sal Stokes of Frankfort, NY; many cousins; and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club, 697 Peckville Road, Dolgeville, New York 13329. All are welcome to attend to pay their respects to Adam’s family and to join one another in sharing cherished memories of Adam.
