A longtime resident of Dolgeville, Helen Kanuck Weinschreider passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Thursday Aug. 23, 2017 while residing at Elm Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Home, Canandaigua, NY. Helen was born on February 8, 1924 in St. Clairsville, Ohio daughter of John and Anna Kanuck. Her family moved to St. Johnsville, NY where Helen graduated High School.  Helen married Stanley Weinschreider in 1947, resided in Dolgeville for many years, and moved to Canandaigua later in life. 

Pleasant times included raising two children, sewing, cooking, gardening, traveling. and having fun with her friends. 

Helen was predeceased by her parents, husband (Stanley), and her brother (George Kanuck).

Helen is survived by her daughter Barbara (Phelps) Greene of Canandaigua NY, her son Brian (Barbara)Weinschreider of Ocala, FL.- grandchildren: Preston Weinschreider, Dr. Jessica Andriesen, Michelle Stevens, Melissa Moore, Bryan Moore, and Stacy Gref along with several great grandchildren.

The family thanks Horizons and Elm Manor for the excellent care Helen was given during her golden years. 

A graveside service will be held on October12 at 1PM in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, State Street, Dolgeville.
