What a great community loss. My favorite painting that hangs in my living room was found at the Plum Tree many years ago. I will think of her often. The painting is a lovely woodland scene with swans swimming serenely across a glassy pool. Somehow it seems fitting at this time with the loss of Rod,Larry, and Esther so close together. There are 3 swans .

Today I learned of a passing of a lady in my home town who helped shape my atitude to life when I was a mere teenager.
I remember working for her and her husband when I was a teen as a car-hop and making the first money I ever earned! I watched and listeded to her from day one and tried to be everything she wanted me to be for their enterprise. I saw the joy of success and the weariness of exhaustion on her face many times over the years I worked for her/them. Not once did she ever raise her voice to me over a mistake, and I made my share of them! I saw the strength of her character every day I worked for her and grew to admire her 'get it done attitude'. Some of my happiest memories are of closing up, cleaning up and just sitting ourside with a cold beer at 2 AM in the morning and looking up at the stars together. When I went off to college and came home one of the first places I went to was to see them. No one in the world ever made a better 'Mexican hot' the either of them. I will never forget her and Rodney and the wonderful times I had at Green Acres. Dearest Ester, RIP, you were a 'walking angel'. Judi Bachman Judi Dunn
